To enhance the well-being of older adults by alleviating hunger and reducing isolation.

Our Core Values

  • Dignity – We recognize that we are meeting people at a time of great need, of vulnerability. We strive to see each potential client as an individual, respecting his/her/their unique lived experience.

  • Inclusion – MOWOCNC serves all  older adults who are eligible, regardless of life history, health status, or financial means.

  • Excellence – We strive to steward our donors’ dollars and our volunteers’ time and energy as effectively and efficiently as possible to meet the needs of our clients and the community.

  • Community MOWOCNC builds and strengthens community. We are neighbors supporting neighbors, enabling older adults to live in place with dignity and support.

Our Commitment

As a local non-profit serving a diverse constituency with partnerships across the community, we commit ourselves to advocate for anti-racist policy within our spaces to ensure access to healthy and nutritious food for all.  MOWOCNC is committed to building and maintaining an organization which allows all employees, volunteers and participants to work and succeed in an environment free of racial inequity in both policy and practice. We continue to listen and learn, recognizing there is always work to be done.
